When welding spring steel, selecting the appropriate welding method and materials is crucial, as spring steel is prone to hardening and may develop cracks during the welding process.

WEWELDING 600 Welding Electrode: This is one of the most ideal welding materials for welding spring steel, as it ensures excellent weld strength and superior crack resistance after welding. It is suitable for a wide variety of steels, including spring steel, and is widely used in the welding of tools, dies, and other high-strength steels.
E5016 welding electrode: If the welding requirements are not particularly high, you can choose the E5016 welding electrode. For applications with higher requirements, you can opt for a chromium-nickel welding electrode with a composition that is closely similar.
Preheating and controlling heat input: Due to the high carbon content of spring steel, preheating (e.g., a preheating treatment at 200℃) and maintaining a lower heat input before welding are essential to reduce the risk of hardening and cracking. Employing a low-current continuous welding technique can help effectively control the heat input.
MAGNA 303 Welding Wire: This is an alloy welding wire with excellent ductility and crack resistance, suitable for welding spring steels. It effectively reduces annealing phenomena in the weld zone and maintains superior crack resistance.
Special Process: For certain specific situations—such as soldering small springs using an electric soldering iron—you can opt for low-temperature solder wire like WEWELDING 88C, paired with the dedicated flux 88C-F. Be sure to carefully control the temperature to avoid damaging the spring material.
